This mural is located at the entrance of a kindergarten area we decided the topic to be Seed Germination. The students are being represented as the seeds and the growing plants; they learned about the process of seed germination and wanted to include graphic elements related to this process, nurturing, caring and helping with the growth of trees, plants and flowers such as water, rain, sun, sunlight, clouds, pollinators, insects, birds and of course human beings. We included planet earth.

The hands depicted on the horizontal extremes of the wall two different stages of the germination process.

The big word FLORECE was written in Spanish, more than half of the participants are hispanic, it means “TO FLOURISH”.

We also included the word THRIVE as a motivational word, it means to grow vigorously or luxuriantly, to flourish and prosper.

The monarch butterfly represent the immigrant community, since they travel and go all around the five continents.

We wanted to use some words that were consistent on the students drawing during the process: Love, Diversity, Amazing, Love Yourself, Smart, Be Happy, Read.
